Spencer Underwood

Spencer Underwood, Maroa-Forsyth High School Class 2014, received the Michael E. Shampine Memorial Scholarship.

Spencer graduated from Maroa-Forsyth High School in 2014 and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Computer Management and Information Systems from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 2018. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Business Administration with an expected graduation date of Spring 2021.

Spencer lives in St. Louis with his dog, Dexter, and is an active volunteer. During the last election he volunteered with two Illinois State Representatives and on the IL 13th Congressional race. He plans to be active again in the upcoming 2020 elections in St. Louis and Southern Illinois.

"I would like to thank the donor of the scholarship for being a union member. Unions have supported my family since my grandfather became a sheet metal worker after World War II and have helped give me the quality of life I enjoy today. This scholarship helped me become the first Underwood to receive an undergraduate degree and I am forever grateful."

Where Are They Now?

Spencer lives in St. Louis and is employed as an IT Business Analyst at a telecommunications company.
