Local Nonprofits/Schools Receive Impact100 Grants to Address Mental Health

A total of $125,000 in Impact100 grants have been awarded to fifteen local nonprofit organizations by The Community Foundation of Macon County (CFMC).

The 2022 competitive grant awards process gave preference to nonprofit organizations that focused on building and strengthening the resilience of individuals, families and our community to help improve mental well-being outcomes, the focus of this year's grant cycle.

This year's awardees and each grant total received:

• Decatur Area Arts Council, Arts All Around You Series, $4,000
• The Good Samaritan Inn, Dining Room Mural, $4,000
• Girl Scouts of Central Illinois, Girl Scout Outreach Program, $5,000
• Children's Museum of Illinois, Mobile Mind Museum, $6,000
• Macon Resources, Inc, VISIONS Mental Health Program, $6,000
• PawPrint Ministries, Comfort Dog Training, $6,100
• Special Olympics of Illinois, SOAR Event, $6,700
• American Dreamer STEM Academy, ASDA Trauma Informed Therapy Program, $6,700
• The Salvation Army of Decatur & Macon County, Youth & Family Ministries Program, $7,500
• Richland Community College, Removing Barriers Through Student Assistance, $7,500
• Decatur Cares Rescue Mission, Thoughtfinder, $9,000
• STARR, Helping the Cowboys and Cowgirls, $10,000
• Millikin University, BIPOC Mental Health Counselor, $18,000
