Jill Reedy Joins Board of Trustees for The Community Foundation of Macon County

Macon County – Jill Reedy, Regional Superintendent of Schools for Macon/Piatt Regional Office of Education #39, has been elected to serve on the board of trustees for The Community Foundation of Macon County (CFMC). Reedy will serve a three-year term and is eligible to serve up to three consecutive terms.

“The CFMC board of trustees are integral in helping the Foundation succeed in its mission.” says Natalie Beck, President of The Community Foundation of Macon County. “In connecting the philanthropic goals of our donors along with identifying the needs of Macon County, it’s essential to have a diverse board that is aware of the many needs and opportunities that exist in our community.”

Reedy, an eight-year veteran at the Macon/Piatt Regional Office of Education was appointed to Regional Superintendent of Schools on October 1, 2022. As Regional Superintendent of Schools, Reedy oversees and supports eleven school districts in Macon and Piatt Counties with an enrollment of 18,248 students. She also oversees Milligan Academy and Futures Unlimited, ROE #39’s alternative education programs. Reedy earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from ISU in 1997, a Master of Science in Educational Administration degree from Southwest Baptist University in 2004, and Specialist in Education degree from EIU in 2017. Reedy has spent the past 25 years of her career in a variety of teaching and leadership roles, giving her a wealth of experience and broad perspective of the diverse needs of students across the state of Illinois. She and her husband, Bret Reedy, have three sons, Jackson, Harrison, and Anderson.

“Volunteering as a CFMC board trustee, surrounded by such a talented and caring group of people, is an honor and a natural fit for me,” says Reedy. “I love to connect people and find ways to work together to continually improve the quality of life in Macon County.

The board members meet bi-monthly to review and approve grants, oversee the foundation’s finances, and develop creative and effective ways of empowering fundholders, nonprofits and charitably inclined citizens to make good happen in Macon County.
