Scholarship/Grant Received: Decatur Foundry Scholarship

Erica Besser graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 2017 and received the Decatur Foundry Scholarship. Eligibility for this scholarship is restricted to immediate family members of current or retired employees of Decatur Foundry Inc. Applicants must also have held positions of leadership and shown academic achievement throughout high school.

Erica, a full-time student at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis., is pursuing a bachelor's degree in exercise therapy with the goal of attending graduate school to obtain a doctorate in physical therapy. Her hope is to work with professional sports teams in her future as a physical therapist.

"I am still a full-time student at Carroll University. I am currently a junior and will receive my bachelor's degree in May 2021 followed by my doctorate of physical therapy in May 2023. I am hoping to work with professional sports teams in my future as a physical therapist. Thanks to the generosity of donors I am able to work towards my dream of becoming a physical therapist."

Currently pursuing a degree in exercise science with plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy at Carroll University
