Scholarship Programs

Adult, workforce development and graduating high school senior scholarship programs

Scholarships for adult students

The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation's Adult Scholarship Fund provides adults and nontraditional students with the opportunity to earn their degree. The Community Foundation encourages individuals who interrupted their schooling for at least three years at some point since high school graduation, you earned your GED, or you attended college to pursue an education. This scholarship supports two-year, four-year or a master’s degree at Richland Community College and/or Millikin University or any other regionally accredited college/university by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) nationwide in person or online. However, the applicant still must reside in Macon County. Individuals participating in Macon County union apprenticeship programs are also eligible for scholarships to cover fees, books and equipment.

Workforce development scholarships

The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation's Workforce Development Scholarships provide designated support for workforce development programs in Macon County. These programs are administered by the partner agency.

Scholarships for graduating high school seniors

All eligible students must be a high school graduate or equivalent and must be accepted into an accredited institution of higher learning within the United States of America. Eligible students must be graduating high school this school year or be an existing college/university student who was previously awarded a multi-year scholarship through the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation.
