Return to Learn Scholarship Fund

The Community Foundation of Macon County’s Return to Learn Scholarship Fund provides adults and nontraditional students with the opportunity to return to school to earn their degree. The Community Foundation of Macon County encourages individuals who interrupted their school to further pursue their education. This scholarship supports two- and four-year degrees, as well as vocational training, at Richland Community College, Millikin University, or technical program/apprenticeship in Macon, Illinois.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Macon County residents and at least 25 years old
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate legal residency in Macon County for the past 36 months. Documentation such as tax forms, housing receipts, or utility bills can be used to verify residency
  • Applicants must attend Richland Community College, Millikin University, or participate in a technical program/apprenticeship in Macon County
  • Applicants must have interrupted their education for at least three years since high school graduation or during college
  • The Community Foundation of Macon County considers financial need when determining award winners. Applicants must provide relevant financial documents for The Community Foundation of Macon County to review, including completing a FAFSA form.

Funding

The Community Foundation of Macon County is pleased to provide $20,000 annually over two scholarship cycles. Applicant awards are up to $2,500 to further educational aspirations. Scholarship awards may be used for tuition, course/program-related fees, and books.
