I am excited about my transition from public safety to The Community Foundation of Macon County. I have always taken great pride in serving the citizens of Macon County and am excited to continue this work in a positive and impactful way. What drew me to the Foundation was its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the mission of connecting the generosity of donors to the needs of our community.

A Decatur native, Desir'ee spent 15 years in public safety emergency communications prior to joining our CFMC team. She is nationally recognized as an Emergency Numbers Professional and Registered Public Safety Leader. A graduate of Argenta-Oreana High School, Desir’ee is currently pursuing her associate degree in communication at Richland Community College.

Desir'ee is committed to creating more equitable communities and values the potential for community growth through youth empowerment. She is the assistant coordinator for The Jerry Dawson Civic Leadership Institute, working as a program liaison with Decatur Public Schools specifically on healthcare and public safety pillars.

Desir'ee assists with CFMC's efforts in the following areas: special program initiatives, the Nonprofit Network, scholarships, Impact100 and CommunityWorks grantmaking programs and administrative support for the Macon County Legacy group.

Desir'ee has two sons, Jayden and Ja'Rell. She enjoys crafting, reading and listening to podcasts.
