'Tis the season to help make wishes come true!

Organizations were asked to dream big just a child would do - no wish is too big or too small! Each organization was limited to five wishes.

While Santa has been making his list, we at The Community Foundation of Macon County have been busy making our own! We reached out to the Macon County Legacy nonprofit members to find out what is on their holiday wish lists. We named this effort the Wish List Project. This Wish List Project serves several purposes. First, the project assists Macon County Legacy members in making their needs known to the community. Second, the Wish List aids donors in making decisions about their giving. Lastly, it helps The Community Foundation of Macon County in determining programming. The Community Foundation prides itself on bringing together people who care with causes that matter. However, if we don’t know the causes, we can’t connect donors with those causes. If you’d like to make a difference and you’re not sure how or where you want to donate, please consider funding one or more items from our Community Wish List. We will update this list quarterly on our website, sharing specific wishes from the Macon County Legacy nonprofit members. Donors with advised funds at The Community Foundation can contact Chasity Casey at 217.429.3000 or by e-mail to recommend a grant from their funds to fulfill all or a portion of a wish. Don’t have a donor-advised fund? Make gifts directly to the nonprofit of your choice to make a wish come true — and be sure to tell them that you saw it on our Wish List!

Wish Granted

The Crossing Healthcare Mobile Unit is just one example of a wish granted in our community by generous donors. Donations to this project included a $50,000 anonymous gift made through a Community Foundation of Macon County donor advised fund.
