We are a 501(c)(3) public charity comprised of more than 380 charitable funds created by people just like you. Those funds, and the gifts that started them, bear the mark of many donors, not just a select few, which differentiates us from a private foundation.

To promote equity and inclusion in Macon County, the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation will endeavor to:

• Help strengthen communities and build a brighter future for Macon County by using diversity as a roadmap to fulfill our vision, to identify common interests and themes, and to foster interconnectedness
• Support programming that reduces the racial, gender, religious, economic and cultural disparities confronting our region in arts, education, housing, economic opportunity, health, nonprofit sustainability and youth empowerment
• Work collaboratively with partners in local communities to break the patterns that have contributed to these disparities and find new ways to work together for justice and equity in the county
• Maintain an enduring commitment to inclusion that is championed by our organizational culture, values, norms and behaviors
• Invite honest and open discourse on the issues of diversity, equity and inclusion
