CommunityWorks Endowment Fund
2024 Grant Funding Totals $400,000 - Application Opens April 9
“The overall purpose of CommunityWorks is to provide a coordinated, systems-based approach toward the achievement of community aspirations,” says Heart of Illinois Community Foundation President Natalie Beck. “This endowed fund provides grants to area organizations and institutions whose efforts further the vision of a sustainable community in select priority areas of workforce development, education and environmental sustainability.”
In 2005, the Community Foundation was one of 18 initial community foundations selected to participate in the Illinois CommunityWorks Endowment program. The Foundation raised local dollars, which were matched by the Grand Victoria Foundation, to create an endowment that provides funding in the areas of workforce development, environment sustainability and childhood education initiatives.
Available Funding & Eligibility
- $400,000 available
- Funding range per grant: $10,000 to $100,000
- Have 501(c) 3 status from the Internal Revenue Service or be a qualified charitable or government organization in Macon, Piatt, or Moultrie counties or Paris, IL.
Purpose & Types of Projects Supported
- CommunityWorks invites proposals in the areas of workforce development, education and environmental sustainability.
Timeline to Apply
- Application opens April 9 at 9:00 a.m. and will close May 7 at 4:30 p.m.
- Recipients will be announced June 11 on Byers and Co. followed by check presentations at a DECU branch at the end of June.
