Benefits of Macon County Legacy Membership

Nonprofit organizations receive these great benefits!

  • Free access to Candid’s Foundation Directory Online (FDO) to view up-to-date information about grantmakers and their motivations in funding. This powerful $1,200 research tool housed in the CFMC office gives our Macon County Legacy members access to this valuable information about thousands of potential funders.
  • Nonprofit staff of MCL members are eligible to apply for two annual openings on the Decatur Leadership Institute.
  • Your nonprofit’s list of needed items – big or small – publicized on The Community Foundation’s website Community Wish List. So far in 2021, donors have given a total of $174,275 to grant 34 wishes for several local nonprofits and also partially fund five other wishes. Thank you, donors!
  • MCL sponsors the annual Do Something Great Awards luncheon, which members may attend at no cost.
  • Full-page ad promoting all MCL members in Decatur magazine published annually in April/May issue.
  • Nonprofits are eligible to apply for Microgrants to fund staff and board member trainings and professional development programs of their choice. In 2021, 11 Macon County Legacy member organizations received a total of more than $12,000 through these grants.
  • Members eligible for free program on endowments held at their organization.
  • Annual calendar with list of members distributed to area donors to encourage financial support.
  • Free notary service.
  • Access to free resource library on developing grant applications, sharpening leadership skills and other helpful topics at CFMC office.
  • MCL members-only educational and social events.
