  • Free access to Candid’s Foundation Directory Online (FDO) to view up-to-date information about grantmakers and their motivations in funding. This powerful $1,200 research tool housed in the CFMC office gives our Macon County Legacy members access to this valuable information about thousands of potential funders.
  • Nonprofit staff of MCL members are eligible to apply for two annual openings on the Decatur Leadership Institute.
  • Your nonprofit’s list of needed items – big or small – publicized on The Community Foundation’s website Community Wish List. Scroll down to view how many wishes have been granted in 2022 thanks to generous donors. Thank you, donors!
  • MCL sponsors the annual Do Something Great Awards luncheon, which members may attend at no cost.
  • Full-page ad promoting all MCL members in Decatur magazine published annually in April/May issue.
  • Nonprofits are eligible to apply for Microgrants to fund staff and board member trainings and professional development programs of their choice. In 2022, 17 Macon County Legacy nonprofit organization members received a total of more than $28,800 through these grants.
  • Members eligible for free program on endowments held at their organization.
  • Annual calendar with list of members distributed to area donors to encourage financial support.
  • Free notary service.
  • Access to free resource library on developing grant applications, sharpening leadership skills and other helpful topics at CFMC office.
  • MCL members-only educational and social events.

Granted Wishes to Date

As of June 14, 2022, donors have given a total of $306,388 to grant 39 wishes for several local nonprofits and to fund a substantial percentage of seven other wishes. Thank you, donors!
