Benefits of Macon County Legacy Membership

Nonprofit organizations receive these great benefits!

  • Dedicated grant funding available to MCL members through the CommunityWorks and Impact100 grant programs. Membership in Macon County Legacy does not guarantee funding.
  • Priority registration for Nonprofit Network courses.
  • Nonprofits are eligible to apply for Microgrants to fund staff and board member trainings and professional development programs of their choice.
  • MCL hosts the annual Do Something Great Awards luncheon, an opportunity to recognize staff, volunteers and donors through award recognition. Members may attend at no cost.
  • MCL members eligible to attend Endowment Building 101 Workshop to promote long-term support for your organization. This event is for executive directors and board chairs. Nonprofits start endowment funds to ensure their financial stability by providing their donors with a way to support them with planned or legacy gifts. The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation is here to help build your endowment fund and a strong future.
  • Nominate a nonprofit staff member for a fully funded $650 scholarship to the Decatur Leadership Institute. Two scholarships available annually to MCL members.
  • Your nonprofit’s list of needed items – big or small – publicized on the Community Foundation’s website Community Wish List. Since inception, over $400,000 in wishes have been granted through the Community Wish List.
  • Full-page ad promoting all MCL members in Decatur magazine published annually in April/May issue.
  • Opportunity to attend MCL after hour events held 2 times a year. Your organization can apply to host member gatherings.
